~~Last weekend~~ 2 weekends ago, at Velofollies, you could see some of my new publications… Still loving it when you see your own pics used somewhere. First, I will start with a great guy, Sven Nys.
I was pleased that they asked me to shoot the pics for there new cycling-line. Created by Pink Olive / Nodrugs. Love to work with them! You have to check there site to see more of there work.

Finally found the time post an artwork of Bram Goewie.
He used one of my MX pictures to rework one of them. Love so much the final image! No flash but only ambient light (bright sunlight) was used…

XMAS Bike Deftinge 2011

Yes I said “Xmas”, Last week, at 26th of December, it was a great day to photograph some mountainbikes… in the rain!
So as I just said… LOTS of rain and mud were some ingredients for my “event”shoot in Deftinge!

When I came at home, I had to clean almost all my gear which I used that day!

Say hi to 2012

Almost the end of the year… so maybe time for a summary of 2011… What do you think?

Last year was tough, lots of work in my new home but… it’s almost ending so I can move finally…
It was a year with lots of great photography and met so many new people!

I was very honored when teams like Nomadesk-Narviflex, LignierVersluys, Nodrugs, asked me to make some pics for there publications.
The problem with team shoots is, that they need pictures in the beginning of a new year… Problem was: There are no green and fresh flowers in the field …or high&light&bright sunlight… only cold temperatures and grey sceneries. (Or we have to go to a sunny Island…)
But everything went well! Afterwards seeing your picture in huge format (AND after they sticked on the van of Nodrugs and MTBClinics) feels so well!

1 Expo:

After the shoot of Nomadesk Narviflex, there was “Mountain bike Dreams” in Haacht. It was the first time for me to show my stuff in a public place! Big thanks to MTBHA8 for this anyway! It was it worth! (link)

Made for Nomadesk Narviflex Marathon Team a trailermovie for 2012 with only one cam. It was for me such kind of experiment which went very well. It taste for more… (link to the moviepost)

The shoot with Kim Saenen was fun! With her ‘old’ GT Zaskar, in Diest and with Koen as assistent! First time that I did some photoshop work… which was only ment as an experiment. Also big thanks to you Kim, Koen and Patrick for making time and afterwards the coffee!

I had also lots of fun at the Nissan Downhill Cups in Belgium! With Loek, asked me to participated in one of my next event shoots and after lots of email traffic, we went to Namur with a full day of fun and action!

Maybe I have to organize a workshop concerning sportsphotography, especially for bike-stuff-pics…

Damn 2 months without any post! Shame on me (again)! But I’m back, and now for sure with more updates!

This week, I will post a trailer which was made with 2 ingredients, iMovie & the GoPro Helmed cam. Not the Hero2 but the previous one. I had him for a while but now I used this to make some movies at the weekend of team Nomadesk-Narviflex.

So get fasten your seatbelts… because it’s gonna be fast!

Owkay I didn’t post a weekly one the last 10 weeks but I had some reasons for that…

The weekly pic of this week was made over the weekend. I asked Tim (Sepai Sports Mol) if he was interested in doing some shots in his Kimono. He didn’t hesitate to participate.

My impression of the World Cup Trial Antwerp 2011

Last weekend (friday-saturday-sunday), there was a big Trial event going on in Antwerp. Big Belgian names on the affiche as Kenny Belaey, Iciar van den Bergh,… But unfortunatly I didn’t saw them because of the late arrival in Antwerp.

So, I asked some friends to shoot with me at this event. Sven joined me and it was fun… as always! Nice organisation and SUPER press-friendly.

Here are some of my impression of the last day (sunday) and the last couple of hours…

2 weeks ago I was riding with Nik in the woods of Ham (Belgium) for some new portfolio stuff…

Weekly

One picture of this shoot, I will use for my weekly picture. I used 2 strobes, 1 SB 800 trough an umbrella and the other was an SB 80DX trough my selfmade beautydish. All this triggered by some PWII.

After 2 black and white pictures of the last weeks… now a color one.

Experimenting

It was just experimenting and to tryout some new things like a combination of an umbrella-flash-pocket-wizard-gorillapod thing. Actually it was easy to mount this gear into any tree. I will use this more often, also in Downhill Cup races. Gorillapods are so light and easy to transport and has lots of other advantages. So you can hear, I’m a fan of this gear.

Too late

It was already “late” at the evening and I hoped that I could use evening-sun in some of my pics but unfortunatly I coudn’t.

The location has lots of mountainbike trails and lots of green flora-stuff (It’s like you’re riding deep in the jungle).

He rides with a Garmin gps… Just for the pic…

Long exposure

Mountainbiking is a sport you can do alone but, nothing beats riding with friends…

For this week, I don’t post a bike picture as I did before… I always liked rockclimbing & indoor climbing.
Last year I spend some time with Edwin and Werner in Bomal. At least what you can say about them is that they are rock-climbing specialists.
